I created this site to visualize the full scale of the 1916 fire in Paris, Texas.
The burn area is overlaid on a modern map with historical photographs I've attempted to restore ( and colorize in some cases ), primarily sourced from The Portal to Texas History,
to make the impact easier to understand. If you zoom in further, a stitched set of 1914 fire insurance maps appears,
helping identify the businesses that were directly affected back then.
My hope is to continue updating this site as more historical photographs and maps become available.
